District 205 Mourns the Passing of Dolton Mayor 

Dolton Village President William Shaw passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008. President Shaw was an elected official who held numerous positions at the municipal, county and state levels. As an elected official, Mr. Shaw championed important issues such as mandating African-American history curriculum in all Illinois public schools and the establishment of the Illinois Organ Donor program.  The District 205 Board of Education, Administration, faculty, staff and the entire community offers condolences to the Village of Dolton and the Shaw family as we mourn his loss. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 and the funeral is set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 both at New Zion Christian Fellowship Church, 14200 Chicago Rd., Dolton.
